What we've learnt working in Mansfield
Mansfield's housing stock is about as varied as it gets, and the drive that suits a Victorian terrace off Chesterfield Road is nothing like the one that suits a 1990s semi out at Berry Hill. On the older properties we're usually dealing with a narrow frontage, a shared entry and levels that fall towards the house — which makes drainage the first conversation, not the last.
On the newer estates the frontages are wider and the problem is more often the original builder's drive: a thin sub-base laid quickly at handover that's started to rut where the wheels sit. That's a full dig-out, not a patch, and we'd rather tell you that at the quote than take your money for a top-up.
