The low-maintenance option, done properly
Resin bound is genuinely the least demanding surface we lay. Water drains straight through it, so you get no standing puddles and no run-off onto the pavement, and because there are no joints there's nothing for weeds to root into. A wash down once or twice a year is the whole maintenance schedule.
The catch is that resin is only as good as what's underneath. It needs a sound, level, permeable base — either fresh porous asphalt or an existing sound tarmac or concrete surface. Where the base isn't up to it, we say so and price the base work in rather than laying resin over a problem.
- Aggregate and resin weighed and forced-mixed on site, not eyeballed
- Laid to a consistent 15–18mm depth over a permeable base
- UV-stable resin so the surface doesn't yellow or fade
- SUDS compliant — usually no planning permission needed
- Walkable in a few hours, driveable the next day
